Tiny Telescope is looking for an ambitious Earth Observation Specialist to help shape the future of space-based Earth observation.

Our payloads, mounted on satellites deliver high-resolution Earth observation data (~5 meters) with daily revisit capabilities. A key challenge is transforming raw sensor data into valuable information products while operating within the strict power, computing, and communication constraints of space systems. AI-driven processing will help identify valuable observations and reject unusable data, such as cloud-covered imagery, minimizing the amount of data that needs to be transmitted to Earth.

You understand the complete Earth observation value chain: from satellite hardware and sensors to image processing, AI algorithms, and the applications that depend on the resulting data products. You enjoy working across disciplines and translating mission goals into practical technical solutions.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop Earth observation processing chains from Level 0 to Level 1 and Level 2 products.
• Design and implement image processing, AI, and machine learning algorithms for onboard and ground-based systems.
• Develop methods to identify and filter unwanted imagery, such as clouds and
• Optimize processing performance within the limited power and computing resources available on satellites.
• Work closely with hardware, software, and systems engineers to develop next-generation Earth observation capabilities.
• Support the development of innovative applications and products based on Earth observation data.

Your Profile:

• Background in Earth observation, remote sensing, aerospace engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Understanding of satellite imaging systems and remote sensing workflows.
• Experience with image processing, geospatial data analysis, and algorithm development.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning techniques.
• Ability to bridge hardware, software, and application domains.
• Innovative, analytical, and comfortable working in a startup/scaleup environment.
