Tiny Telescope is looking for an ambitious Star Tracker Specialist to help develop the next generation of high-accuracy attitude determination systems for space missions.
Despite their compact size, Tiny Telescopes deliver exceptional optical performance and magnification, enabling highly accurate star trackers for spacecraft positioning and attitude control. In this role, you will work at the intersection of optics, electronics, software, and spacecraft systems to develop star trackers that meet the demanding requirements of modern Attitude Determination and Control Systems (ADCS).
You understand the architecture and protocols of ADCS systems and can translate system-level requirements into reliable star tracker solutions. From optical design and sensor integration to star pattern recognition algorithms and system qualification, you will play a key role in delivering flight-ready products for space applications.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop high-accuracy star trackers for spacecraft attitude determination.
- Design and implement star pattern recognition and attitude estimation algorithms that generate precise quaternions. Define interfaces and protocols.
- Optimize reliability and processing performance within the limited power and computing resources available on satellites.
- Contribute to the development of next-generation ADCS technologies.
- Work across optical, electrical, software, and systems engineering disciplines.
- Develop and execute test, verification, and qualification programs.
Your Profile:
- Background in aerospace engineering, physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Understanding of ADCS architectures, and spacecraft pointing requirements.
- Experience with performance optimization of star trackers, gyroscopes, optical sensors, computer vision, or image processing systems.
- Familiarity with attitude determination algorithms, star catalog matching, and quaternion-based representations.
- Knowledge of optical, electrical, and software aspects of embedded space systems.
- Hands-on, analytical, and comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Excited by the challenges of developing hardware and software for space missions.
